Subsolo Tapas Restaurant

Tapas Interior Design

Redwah worked in collaboration with lighting designer Malaya Blonde to provide a modern interior design concept for Subsolo Tapas Restaurant, a gorgeous venue with a reputation for great tapas, wine, and service. Subsolo is tucked away in a basement location, so the key objective of the project was to lighten and brighten up the space, while keeping to a specified budget. While the original New York-style warehouse aesthetic worked well as an evening venue, the client was keen to refresh the space and increase their offerings to entice lunchtime diners.

After undergoing a minor refurbishment, the restaurant now boasts a more contemporary allure, featuring colourful and playful upholstery on the banquette seating, columns clad in vibrant patterned tiles, faux planting, and a lighter ceiling paint colour which brightens and freshens the space. The new finishes helped lift the overall ambience of the restaurant, enabling the venue to shift from day to night service seamlessly. The addition of pots and faux planting also added another layer to the space, reinforcing the transformation and experience.
