Motza Pizza and Gelato Restaurant
Pizza Restaurant Interior Design
Tucked away in a leafy corner of Castlecrag is Motza Pizza, a tiny hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. A family restaurant with a great menu and a friendly, relaxed vibe, Motza approached redwah with a view to transforming their new space into an experience which would appeal to a range of diners, particularly families.
Working in close collaboration with lighting designer Sophia Ng from Malaya Blonde, redwah successfully spearheaded the exciting renovation of this endearing venue.
Styling was of enormous importance on this project, and by using a simple palette with carefully-selected materials and the introduction of layers, redwah brought the space to life. The owners were keen to retain the venue’s original charm, so the beautiful exposed timber ceiling served as the hero in the design story, adding a new depth of dimension to the space. The installation of custom designed acoustic wall panelling, timber-look flooring, and feature patterned floor and wall tiles allowed redwah to create a colourful, fun and lively atmosphere, while adding much-needed warmth.
To achieve a cosy, eclectic environment, this restaurant interior design also featured terrazzo-style planters with faux olive trees, among other plants. Timber paddle boards branded with the Motza logo and stacked shelves with tins of tomatoes and plants further transport the diner to a quaint Italian cantina. The end result is a relaxed vibe with genuine Mediterranean ambience, which entices patrons to stay a while, or simply pop in for a quick drink and grab a pizza to go – and ensures they’ll forget they’re still in Sydney by the time they leave!
